About Jim Guckin:

Jim was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania back in the good old days of June 1982 (well he assumes they were the good old days because he can't remember them). Jim was raised in the Morrel section of Philadelphia and attended school there until his family moved a short distance to Bensalem, PA where Jim stayed until the age of 22, when he decided to move back into the city.

Between the years of 1998 and 1999 Jim got his foot into the door in the radio industry, Jim was a goof for the Philadelphia based show, "The Jim Korhan Show" on a local broadcast radio station 1360 WNJC. Jim slowly fell up the ladder of success and became the shows producer (which he learned that he was horrible at and got screamed at often). Jim occasionally got to get a little bit of mic time and instantly feel in love with radio.

In 2000 Jim got the break that he had been waiting for when Jim finally got his own show. "The Jim Guckin Show" hit the airwaves on WNJC on March 1st 2003. The Show was nothing like it it is today due to the time slot that Jim got (2am - 4am), the only good topic he could think of was a paranormal radio show. The show wasn't really that good, Jim had the ambition but not the talent to hold on to the show. The shows were often filled with gaps in time where Jim either couldn't think of a way to fill the time or had forgotten to turn his microphone. The show was just horrible to listen to and Jim struggled through the experience never giving up his dream.

Jim Guckin show ceased to exist for a long time, after a long break Jim appeared back on radio again (well internet radio) he was doing "The Jim Korhan Show" on a regular basis as one of the shows rotating third co-hosts. When the Jim Korhan decided to start an internet radio station called "JKE Radio" he looked to add some more programming to fill out the new fledgling internet radio station. Jim Korhan looked to his close staff to attempt to fill the programming at no extra cost.

On March 13th 2006, the Jim Guckin Show (the one you know....kinda) premiered on the JKE Radio network. The show started off as a once a week show airing on the station and it wasn't even live yet. Jim stayed with the station as it grew into it's current incarnation 95WASB the CRINGE. Jim's show continued to grow and went from a pre-recorded one (1) day a week 2 hour show to now being a live five (5) day a week, (1) one hour show with complete ability for live feedback from the listeners.

In late 2007 95WASB, the internet radio station around the Jim Guckin Show, decided to pull the plug and with the loss of the sponsors it looked as if the Jim Guckin Show was doomed to go off the air. With a flood of e-mails and support from the listeners, Jim decided to put his own money to sponsor the show to keep it going for the fans, but eventually even that wasn't enough to keep the show going. In March Jim launched a campaign in which he added a small donate button to his site. Through the generosity of the listeners and fans of the show Jim was able to update some equipment that was really needed.

and as they say...the rest is history...200+ Shows and counting
